Looking for ways to enjoy the Fourth of July celebration wherever you are? Boats Unlimited has compiled a list of some fun events happening near our locations to help you honor the founding of our country with your family and friends.
The Fun Fourth Festival in Greensboro is a two-day event that kicks off with the Freedom Run 5K or 10K on July 3. There’s also a one-mile run, the Firecracker Road Race. Afterwards, the Elm Street and Greene Street Parking Lots come alive with the American Block Party event, featuring bands and delicious food options.
The next day, July 4th, the largest Fourth of July festival in North Carolina is in full swing with multiple activities, from live performances to vendors to interactive games. The day concludes with the Patriot Fireworks Concert at First National Bank Stadium. Admission is free for the festival, and you can learn more here.
The city of New Bern marks the founding of our country with a family-focused event and fireworks show at Lawson Creek Park. Kids can partake of ticketed inflatable bounce houses, as well as games, a face-painting station, a misting tent and a roaming magician.
The event also includes a valuable safety lesson for kids via the City’s new fire safety house. A towering, inflatable fire safety tool designed to teach kids the dangers of fire and how to escape a burning home quickly and safely, it includes a smoke alarm and a smoke machine to simulate a real fire. Tours of the house are free.
A deejay will be on hand for all to enjoy and participate in several dance contests and two stage shows. The celebration concludes with a fireworks display. Learn more here.
Whether you join the throngs that pack the riverfront or simply find a viewing spot from one of the many options downtown, Wilmington’s fireworks display for the Fourth of July is impressive. The display is set off from a barge in the Cape Fear River. Prior to the fireworks, Water Street will host local vendors offering treats, as well as live entertainment. Learn more here.
